If I could work in United Nation(UN), I would like to work in United Nation Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO).

This Organization is calling the cease-fire to the countries which are in the war. UNTSO is existed for world peace.

I was born Hiroshima, and I have grown up with peace study. For this 21 years, I come to think we need to remove war in the world. We can act for world peace in Hiroshima, and I can be the first step people think about peace. however, even if we did hard, the war did not be removed in this world.
It is also, really important for peace to do pacifist movement in Hiroshima, but the peace front in UNTSO must be more effective for peace.

Also, I can share my experience in Hiroshima in this organization with my English. I would like to tell the story in Hiroshima and how we want to remove war in the world.

In UNTSO, I can involve in pacifist movement in the world!!!!

Class #13 Personal Spaces

1. You’re talking to a co-worker. How close do you stand?

I will stand 2 meters away from the co-workers. I think this is a moderate space in business. 2 meter is the best distance. This is not close for making them smell my sweat or mouth and not far for showing my regard to them.

2. You’re talking to a friend. Do you touch each other?

I sometimes touch my friends when we are chatting. Especially, to my friends who I know for long time. I think, to touch them during chatting lets us close.

3. Look at the diagram of a waiting. Where do you sit when you are enter?

I chose the seat which does not have the next person. They may feel strange to me if I sit next them. Because, there are some seats which do not have the next person. I don’t want someone feel strange to me. In addition it, I want to have my space for feel relief. For those reason, I sit the seat which does not have the next person.

4. You’re in a clouded elevator. Where do you look?

I look up the number plate on the wall. I do never look at the other person in the elevator.Because I need to check what floor I am on, I look at the number palate. Also, in elevator, everyone stand really close. If I look at the other person, our face would be really close. It is ok the person who I look at is my friend. However, looking at the person who I do not know in elevator makes the person feel bad.

5. You’re standing in a line. How close do you stand to the person in front?

I stand 3 meters away to the person in front. When this line is really clouded, it happens the person in front comes back for adjust the line. If I do not have this distance, I would hit the person in front. My action may make the line long, but I prefer to do this.

6. You get on the bus. There is an empty row of seats at the back, and an empty seat close by.

Where do you sit?

I sit an empty seat close by. I have no idea the reason I do so, but I will say I want to sit as soon as possible. It is sure that I can sit in the bus after choosing the close seat. However, when I see an old person, I may stand up and let the old person sit.

7. You’re in a library and there’s an empty seat beside you. Do you want to stop someone sitting there? If so, how?

I do not stop someone sitting the seat next me. In my case, I would not choose this seat which have someone next. However I don’t care who is next to me after I sit. Especially, library is a public institution, so it must not be prohibited someone to sit next to me.

8. You’re going to the beach. Do you like to see lots of people or very few?

I like to see lots of people. This is a good time to seeing a lot of people who are almost naked. For looking at them, I come to think I need to lose my wait. But, I know I need to be worried not to look at them too much.

9. When you are talking to someone, do you look them in the eyes?

Of course I look them in the eyes. It is normal to make eye contact during talking. I think It shows I listen their talks. For example, I wonder they listen my talk when they do not make eye contact with me.

10. You’re on a train. Do you talk to the other passengers?

I usually do not talk to the other passengers on a train. I don’t have a subject for talking to them. Besides, if I start to talk to them, they my feel strange to me. However, when someone talk to me, I talk with them. Old persons sometimes talk to me on a train.

Working with different cultures and special guests

America is the best country where I work.

In the business culture of America, when the new staffs can not understand the content of the jobs, the blames on their superiors. Because they do not think about the things which their superiors, the superiors try to tell them everything they want them to understand about their works. Besides, they explain with the specific images.

On the other hand, in Japan, there is less blame on the superiors when it happen. We need to understand the things 10 times as much as the things our superiors tell us.

From this aspect, I expect I can ask a question about the work when I have a question in America, but I cannot do in Japan. I believe the more I ask and understand my work, the better I can work.

For this reason, I think the best place in which I work is America.

Class #10 Family Life

a.When do children usually leave home?

I think it may happen when children go into their new lives. For example, when they enter university, they get jobs, and they get married, they may leave home. Then they start their new lives in new societies.

b. How many people live in your home?

In my home, 4 people live together; my grand mother, father, mother, and me. I have an elder brother in Kyoto because he goes to a graduate school in Kyoto. He started to live there 6 years ago. At the first time he leave home, we all felt sad and miss him. It have become normal that he is not at home. However, we never forget him. When he comes back home we really happy to be with him.

c. Do you have a head of the family?

Yes. My father is our head of my family. He supports my family by working hard and getting salary. I think it is not all that to support with money. For example my mother is always care about our health and conditions. It is also an important support for my family. However, we need an head who leads my family and this is my father. Every member of my family respects him and he respects back us.

d. Who does the housework?

My mother does the housework. She looks really hard to do this everyday because she needs to do both of her work and the housework. For this reason, my grandmother and I help the housework when we can do. My father does not help her housework so much but he does help her in hard work which we need power, like repairing something.

Both of my father and mother run my family. He works hard everyday, and my mother works at home. Although my mother does not works everyday, she does the housework. Both of their works are really important for running my family.

We have 3 rooms for sleep. Each of Two are for my grandmother and me, and one is for my father and mother. My house is not enough large that we have our sleep each. However, it is enough for us because we can feel the warmth of a happy home.

Class Number 7 Names and Addresses

1.Are feelings, emotions and facial expressions universal across borders, happy, sad, etc..?

I think feelings and emotions are universal, but facial expression is not. Feelings and emotions are made up from all of our life and everybody has them. However, we learn the way to make facial expressions in each different society. For example, when I want to explain my say feeling, I make a sullen face. I learn it from my family. When I make this face my family notice I am sad. However, when I make a sullen face in front of my friends, they may think I am angry.

2. Try to name as many feelings as possible in Japanese. ( 10 minimum) Then, write the English
translation.

3. Are there any feelings in Japanese that cannot be translated into English

Yes, I think we cannot translate some feelings in Japanese into English.

For example,

もったいない

In dictionary, this Japanese is translated “wasteful” in English. In English English dictionary, wasteful means “using too much of something or wasting it.” However this word in English does not show the feeling of 惜しい. There are some words we translate into surface English words. However, we can not say it translate exactly.

Class Number 6 Greetings

At first, It is really important for me to greet with my family in life. I have lived with my family for 20 years. In this years, I had some days that I did not communicate with them because of my bad feeling. When I felt bad, I did not want to communicate at home. However, I noticed that my behavior was really bad when I was a high school student. Also, I noticed I could behave badly thanks to my families generous mind. After that, I always try to greet them. “Good morning” in the morning, “Have a good day!” in the afternoon, “Good night” inn the evening and so on. Saying hi to them lets me feel good. Thanks for this, I can have a good day everyday.

Second, I say hello with smile to people who are important in society. I believe smile is really effective for showing that I like you. However I do not touch them, because I think touching them is too much for greeting. My way of greeting to female and male are same. I do not touch both of them but smile.

On the other hand, I hug some people who is close to me. They are my best friend and boyfriend. I don’t hug the other one. Because I don’t know whether they want to hug me or not. I do hug just few people who I know they want to hug me too.

Class #12 Dating Practices

The most important thing for my partner is “personality.”
What will leave on him 40 years later? It may be his personality. Personality will not be changed easily. I want to be with the person who is generous to everything. If my partner is generous, I surly could live with relief .

The second important thing is “looks.”
When I wake up next to him in the morning and his looks is my type, I may feel comfortable for the hole day. Moreover, even if he behave in a bad way, I may accept it thanks to his sweet face.

The third one is “money.”
If he have a lot of money, it is of course fine to me. What will happen if he does not have much money? I may need to work too for live tighter. Although it sounds hard, I do not care about working for live. For this reason, money is the third for me.

The last one is “hobby.”
It is just for option of my ideal partner. However, if my partner like watching sports and drinking, which is the same as my hobby, we can share great time and we can understand each other better.

The other thing is like “health” ”car” ”smell” and so on.
the lest of them are also important for me, but they are really little rate comparing with the first to the fourth things.

I want to choose my partner by following this graph!!
